ST. LOUIS, MO. – February 19, 2015 – Cofactor Genomics, a St. Louis-based company active in the area of advanced next-generation sequencing applications, today announced that it has passed the requirements to become an Agilent Certified Service Provider for SureSelectXT Methyl-Seq target enrichment.

Agilent certifies select laboratories that leverage the company’s market-leading technologies to provide analysis services of the highest quality. Methylation sequencing and analysis is one of the most complicated next-generation sequencing applications. One of the main areas of complication lies in the analysis of methylation sequencing data. Over the last several years, Cofactor Genomics has built one of the most comprehensive methylation analysis services in the industry and is able to handle every piece of the project, from DNA extraction to analysis.

“One of the next logical steps in understanding genetic modulation by modification is to assess the methylation state of DNA,” said Jon Armstrong, Chief Scientific Officer at Cofactor. “We are honored to be recognized by Agilent for our extremely high quality work and look forward to providing ground-breaking results in the study of epigenetics with their products.”

“Agilent is excited to have an expert partner in Cofactor Genomics to drive Agilent’s SureSelectXT Methyl-Seq or epigenetic applications,” said Frédéric Laget, Vice President of Sales, Agilent’s Diagnostics and Genomics Group. “Cofactor is known for providing innovative approaches and has used Agilent’s NGS target enrichment solutions for many years. We look forward to supporting them as they expand their service offerings in the life sciences industry.”
